Tips for Getting "Camera Ready!"

When preparing for a portrait session, it is important to remember that images last a lifetime; so you want to make sure you present yourself in the most memorable way. In order to enhance your experience and to help you get ready for your next shoot, here are a few helpful "Tips to Ponder" to make sure you are Camera Ready!

1. Arrive at your shoot about 15 minutes early to relax, take a deep breath, and de-stress. You want to make sure you are looking fresh and your absolute best!

2. Remember to ALWAYS "Dress to Impress". Wear clothing that really compliments your sense of style and body type. Do a dress rehearsal beforehand to make sure you look and feel good in your selected attire.

3. Be sure you are well-groomed and well-manicured. This is a great time to pamper yourself! If getting a fresh haircut, make sure you get it a few days ahead, as a precaution.

4. Be prepared for close-ups by applying medication to any break-outs and drinking plenty of water during the weeks leading up to the day of the shoot.

5. Ladies, don't be afraid to polish up with a little powder and eye make-up. You will be surprised at how vibrant it makes you look in your images!

6. Practice good posture! Slumping over can have a major impact on your portraits, and is a key indicator of your level of confidence. Remember to keep those shoulders back and spine straight.

Don't forget, the camera's lens catches every detail, even those you missed in the mirror. Make sure you present yourself the way you want to be remembered, each and every time. Oh, and have FUN!
